Çiçekli Bahçe Motel

This year we had our summer holiday on Northern coasts of Aegean again. We prefer North Aegean because it is close to Istanbul, it has cooler temperatures compared to the sticky weather of Southern coasts and it has almost no humidity
When you take Yenikapı-Bandırma ferry, it is only three-hour-drive to the hotel from Bandırma. Thanks to this for we both win a half day and avoid long and exhausting driving.
The hotel we used to go every year was fully booked. After a detailed surfing on internet for a long time we made reservation at Çiçekli Bahçe (former Kabile) Motel which is located at Küçükkuyu Sazlı Village. Our most important expectation from a hotel is its closeness to the seashore, tranquility and instead of being an individual lost among the hundreds of visitors at the big hotels to be a precious guest of a small hotel. Likewise the hotel that we headed without information was luckily fully suitable to our taste.
Hatice Hanım and Ibrahim Bey is a native couple running this 18-room hotel and hosts the visitors like the guests at home. Ayten Hanım, an extraordinary local cook, works miracles in the kitchen. The young university students who serve the guests do their best to meet our needs.
The rooms are equipped with all necessities, nothing extra: Bed, commode, closet, bathroom with warm water running and air-condition… There were screens on the windows however we never see a single mosquito during our 8-night stay. Anything you need for the room has been immediately provided.
The restaurant is also the daily living area. The couches on which you can spend a whole day are lined on the sides. Wireless internet is also available together with two PCs for those who have not brought their laptops. There is no TV, no music and no sound. The children around were not making much noise, parallel to the calmness of the environment.
The seashore is just a few steps away and the big cushions for either sunbathing or for resting under the parasols are inviting. You can take the cushions to the large platform on the edge of the jetty or you can row around with the small boat of the hotel. Of course the crystal-clear sea is just like an aquarium.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served as open-buffet. Contrary to many touristic establishments, nothing is served in small packages at the breakfast. Home-made butter and jams, famous Ezine cheese, local honey, fresh green peppers, tomatoes and rockets raised in the garden, paprika, pişi – a kind of pastry are the main foods of the breakfast. You can toast your white or home-made bread over small brazier ready every morning.
We got the pleasure of tasting the food variations made of the famous delicious herbs of Aegean, plus the newly cooked ones over bbq at lunch and dinner. In addition cakes, cookies, boreks and kisir (an Anatolian salad made of bulgur-boiled and pounded wheat, scallion and red pepper paste).
Ice-cold beer is served in glasses cooled in the refrigerator.
A suggesiton: If you can manage, visit Kabile motel on full moon time. The moon rises like an orange ball and shines over you all night long. However, nights without full moon offers you a sky with millions of twinkling stars.
And now we thank to Çiçekli Bahçe Motel for this wonderful and exceptional vacation that we had as if we were at-home.
