Istanbul Kültür ve Sanat Vakfi (Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Art)
The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts was founded in 1973 by Dr. Nejat F. Eczacibasi and the 1st Istanbul Festival was held on July, the same year, on the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey. The festival hosted worldwide known artists and groups from New York Philharmonic to Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, from Yehudi Menuhin to Itzhak Perlman, from Leyla Gencer to Montserrat Caballé and Bolshoi Ballet.
The foundation now organizes the International Istanbul Film Festival in April, the International Istanbul Theatre Festival in May, the International Istanbul Music Festival in June-July, the International Istanbul Jazz Festival in July and the International Istanbul Biennial in the autumn every two years. In 1992, the Foundation was awarded the "Trophée Internationale des Arts et de la Culture" by Institut International de Promotion et de Prestige of UNESCO.

History Foundation of Turkey)
The History Foundation is a non-governmental organization working
in the public interest with the objective of developing and extending history
consciousness in Turkey. It is a civic initiative set up by individuals who
view the historical continuity, accumulation and change as a basic dimension
effecting their lives and who wish, by participating in activities contributing
to its realization, to experience this dimension in a more conscious manner
and to raise their awareness of the progress of history.
The History foundation carries out its functions by means of all types of research and educational work and by engaging in, organizing or assisting in various types of activity such as publication of books and periodicals, production of documentary films and radio and television programs, electronic publishing, production of artistic and literary works in the field of history, musicological and exhibition activities, scholarly meetings, library and archival services, cultural tourism etc.
