Untitled Document Some visitors complain about the rareness of green lands in Ankara to go on weekends. However, just at the city center Atatürk Orman Çiftliği (The Atatürk Forest Farm) welcomes them with its zoo, which is the largest of the country, Yörük (nomadic) tents, milk and milk products. Atatürk Orman Çiftliği submits us several facilities being a place to take a breath in Ankara while eating meatball with bread as wandering around, or watching the animals unfortunately we can no more meet in nature now.

Take your beloved ones with you and enjoy under the green trees and pay a visit to the replica of the house where Atatürk was born in Salonica /Greece and converted into a museum in 1981. Being a walking distance from the Çiftlik Merkez Restaurant, to help digest the delicious Turkish meal you consumed it might be a good stroll.

If you pass over the rails and turn left you'll see TIGEM sign, pass it and park your car. Yörük tents located on greens will meet you with irresistible scents. When you are tired or get hungry immediately drop one of the Yörük tents and eat gözleme or handmade mantı one of the famous and delicious dishes of Turkish cuisine. And please don't forget to end the meal with Turkish coffee. Don't be surprised by the geese waiting for a piece of your gözleme while you are eating!

Covering an area of 25,000 acres, the farm today hosts Hayvanat Bahçesi, beer factory, wine distillery, fruit juice factory and a dairy. Do not miss to taste AOÇ ice cream.

You can purchase potable flowers and plants from the greenhouses within the park and Christmas trees during the season. Çiftlik Merkez Restaurant, one of the oldest establishments, with its local and international cuisine backed up with a beautiful green garden, will help you to relax and enjoy your food. Giraffes, monkeys, lions, zebras and elephants are all wandering around to add some more joy to your excursion.

Because of the size of the land, over 2,300 acres of it was set-up as a park and is one of the well known recreational areas among middle class natives. Keep in mind that you will be struggling with crowd over the weekends, especially when the weather is smiling
