Four Seasons Hotel
|
A jury of food writers and gourmets working for the daily Hürriyet Newspaper have selected the best places for breakfast. However, note that the jury has given priority to Istanbul, especially to the European side of the Bosphorus, while deciding.
Four Seasons Hotel
This five-star hotel, once the Sultanahmet jail, arranges brunch on Sundays
from 11:30 to 15:00. Every week there is a corner where examples of various
cuisines are offered. Besides continental breakfast, salads, varieties of cheese,
seafood, risotto, asparagus, BBQ, fresh fruit juice, pancakes, and omelettes
are among the alternatives. Jams and honey from the comb are the favorites.
It is free for children aged 0-6.
AŞŞk Cafè
AŞŞk Cafè is located in Arnavutköy, almost on top of the sea. Potted eggs are
its specialty. In addition, local cheese, homemade jams, special tahin-pekmez
(sesame paste and grape molasses) are among the favorites. They offer tasty
herbal tea. "HoŞŞ" herbal tea is made from lavender, thyme,
mint and camomile. The specially blended tea is brewed in porcelain teapots.
The cafè is open every day from 09:00 to 24:00.

Mehtab (SütiŞ)
Mehtab was a tea garden located on the Rumelihisarı coast and in service between
1952 and 1985. They changed the name to SütiŞ after partnership with the company
bearing that name; however it is still known as Mehtab. It is open everyday
from 06:00 to 01:00. The breakfast consists of various omelettes, cream, honey,
olive, cheese and fruit juice. The milk desserts (puddings) are the specialties
of the site.
Bahar Pastanesi
Bahar is in Arnavutköy and its breakfast plate consists of various cheeses,
honey, butter, egg, salami, ham, black and green olives, tomatoes and cucumber.
You can also order your favorite omelette. Besides the continental breakfast,
it is famous for its small böreks, pizza, cakes and a special bread baked
made from a mixture of whole-wheat and oat. They insist that you drink lemonade
nowhere else but at Bahar. It is open from 07:00 to 24:00 and serves breakfast
even at night.
Saray Muhallebicisi
Saray has been in service in Istanbul since 1935 and has several branches throughout
the city. The continental breakfast served in the TeŞvikiye branch is popular.
The plate is composed of cheese varieties, cucumber, tomatoes, olive, butter
and jam. Moreover you can taste börek, omelette and hot and cold sandwich
selections.
Sade Kahve
The place has been decorated like a country garden and offers two kinds of breakfast:
Country or village breakfast and continental breakfast. The omelettes are made
from village eggs. Varieties of bread including Trabzon bread and simit
are also among the specialties.
Bebek Kahve
This most popular site was included in the list thanks to its location, not
the richness of the breakfast provided. It is between Bebek Mosque and Bebek
port. The breakfast is only poğaÇa, börek, tost and cookies.
It is open from 07:00 to 21:00.
Yeniköy Spor Kulübü
This Club is on the coast of Yeniköy and is open to the public. The breakfast
plate consists two kinds of cheese, egg, olive, tomato, cucumber, butter, honey
and jam. Other types of eggs, sigara and paÇanga börek
are also available. It is open every day from 08:00 to 01:00.
Cafehane
It is a cafè holding 150-200 located on the seaside in ızmir. The continental
breakfast plate is comprised of olives, white cheese, honey, butter, jam, tomato
and cucumber. Tea is served in a teapot. Fried cheese, sucuk and sausage,
baked kaŞar cheese on bread and omelette varieties are also offered.
Queen Ada
Queen Ada is in Türkbükü, Bodrum. The breakfast is open buffet. Olives from
eight leading olive-producing cities in Turkey, various local cheeses, omelettes
and other egg varieties, homemade bread, cakes, poğaÇa, fresh fruit juice
and special lemonade are among the alternatives.
