Dried fruit shops
|

Moreover, Turks have created a verb as çitlemek just for sunflower seed; this is because while biting the seed a sound like çit (cheet) is heard. A more interesting thing is that Turks sometimes call dried fruit as eğlencelik (for amusement)
Dried fruits always accompany alcoholic beverages and a perfect escort to TV at nights can be found almost everywhere: at Kuruyemiş shops, at the streets by peddlers, at special stands in supermarkets. They are sold in wrapped packages in markets but it is up to you how much to buy at the shops. They sell different kinds of tea and coffee, fruit tea, biscuits, chocolates, ice cream, Turkish delight, various candies and refreshments, besides local and imported dried fruits.
If you cannot protect your cold-bloodedness it will take only a few minutes to empty your wallet in a Kuruyemiş shop!
