The 15th Filmmor Women’s Film Festival will screen 41 films under feature sections "Women’s Cinema", "Women’s Cinema in Turkey", and "The Displaced", as well as "Christine Delphy - I’m Not Feminist But…", and the retrospective "Deepa Mehta - Cinema of the Earth", in addition to holding workshops, forums and discussions.
Istanbul screenings will take place at French Cultural Center in Taksim.
Bodrum, the famous port town in Muğla province in the southwest Aegean region, will host the festival on March 25 and 26. İzmir is the next stop and screenings will take place on March 31 - April 2. The festival will travel to Bursa and the screenings will take place on April 8-9. Giresun, a Black Sea coast province, wil host the festival on April 22 and 23. Adana will be the next stop on April 27-28. The last stop of the Festival is Mediterranean province Mersin on April 29-30. Please note Turkish films will be screened with English subtitle.
Filmmor festival aims to submit films on women to more audiences, to enable women who have limited conditions to go to movies, watch films, to increase the visibility of women, women's experiences, accomplishments and products as well as their problems, to increase women's possibilities of sharing their experiences in national and international levels and to contribute to women's cultural and democratic participation.
All screenings and activities are free of charge.
