For Kids - Ankara

Playgrounds, sand ponds and walking paths at various parks and Ahlatlıbel Municipality Park offer healthy choices for children's activities. Moreover, rides-on cars, horses and helicopters are available in almost all shopping malls.


Besides, Altınpark has an enormous playground for children, a science museum and wide pavements for toddlers on tricycles and bikes.

Ankara Üniversietsi Toy museum founded with the aim of preserving those toys lost at the time of swift social change, MTA Nature History museum exhibiting materials collected from geological research and study may be a unusual experience for the children.

Ice-skating and hockey lessons are available for children at an Olympic size rink in Belpa while Bilkent Rollhouse offers the largest bowling alley. Rollhouse also has billiards and dart hall together with a restaurant.

A group of expat children whose age ranges from 5 to 12 began ice-skating on Mondays and Wednesday between 16:00 and 16:45. Price: . 50YTL for 4 weeks twice a week, or 8 weeks once a week. Little Chefs Club offers cooking and baking courses specially designed for kids.

Gençlik Parkı and the Zoo at Atatürk Orman Çiftliği are the oldest attractions in Ankara. Gençlik parkı has a large pond, numerous cafes and restaurant and a "Luna Park" (a small amusement park with rides both for children and adults). Zoo is for mostly small children who enjoy running about and viewin the animals, especially in the spring.

Aquapark is located on a 12.000 sq.mt area and have seventeen water and rafting slides as well as a 3000 sq.mt swimming pool.

Moreover, Neverland is the first bookstore in Turkey selling only children's books. It is at Kızılay and also offers educational publications for parents, PC games, films and toys.
