Hamams in Istanbul

 Cağaloğlu Hamamı
Cağaloğlu Hamamı was built about 300 years ago on an area of 2834 sq.mt and is one of the original baths in town. It is considered the last sample of its category and the architectural design is astonishing. It is open everyday. The bathing hours for men are 07:00 - 22:00 and for women 08:00 - 20:00 hours. Cağaloğlu Hamamı also has a café as famous as itself. Discount is applied to groups of at least 10 people.

Çemberlitaş Hamamı
This hamam has was in 1584 and was very popular among the Sultans. It is considered to be one of the most important examples of 16th century Ottoman architecture. Along with facilities of similar Hamams Çemberlitaş Hamamı now plans some renovations and the women's section will be enlarged and restored keeping its historical characteristics. The women's section will also house fitness center and solarium. Discounts are applied to students and groups.

Galatasaray Hamamı
First built in 1481 by Sultan Bayezid II, it had some restorations under the reign of Ottoman Sultans and it was modernized in 1965 without spoiling original architecture and charm. It is one of the most popular Hamams among the businessmen and famous people. The hamam consist of göbektaşı, sweating and Turkish massage sections. Single changing and resting rooms are available, as well as another resting room in which you may sip your coffee, tea or refreshment after a relaxing bath. As in all Hamams there are separate sections for women and men. The bathing hours for women are 08:00-22:00 and for men 06:00-22:00. The men's section can be reserved for couples or groups of at least 20 people. Tourists are more receptive to the group idea. They can watch belly dancing and taste the delicious Turkish meals near the pool in the garden. Galatasaray Hamam is the address of "Gelin Hamamı", "Damat Hamamı" and "Kına Gecesi" (Henna Night) organizations.

The Marmara Hotel
The Hamam of this 5-star hotel reflects traditional Turkish architecture. The Hamam and sauna are open everyday from 07:00 to 22:00. They are open to women only 07:00-14:00 and to both women and men from 15:00-22:00. For the price of the Hamam, sauna and Jacuzzi facilities please call the Hotel.

Swissotel The Bosphorus
This is again a 5-star hotel with Hamam, sauna and Jacuzzi facilities. The Hamam is open from 07:00 to 23:00. Please make sure to have a reservation before visiting the Hamam. This Hamam is preferred by women during the day while by businessmen tend to frequent itafter office hours. It is open to its members as well as those who come for massage at the spa and to hotel guests.

Polat Renaissance Hotel
The Hamam of this 5-star hotel is highly recommended for those who wish to enjoy a traditional Turkish bath. Men and women's sections are separate as tradition dictates. It is open to women until 15:00 and after that, it is open for men. It is possible for groups of 10-15 to reserve small private sections beforehand.
