Drum Circle

Everybody can do it.
A good way of socializing
Can improve your health
And .. So enjoyable !
It is a group in which all can express themselves through rhythm.
There are beginners; expert drummers; those who are interested in music but are not musicians; young and old alike.
Every day we must avoid a culture which isolates us and makes us live in personal loneliness.
Generally people see music as enjoyable, but think that they can't play - but can only listen.
The opposite is easily proved true with percussion instruments and rhythm practice.
You can be a piece of the fun. Davul (drum) is a communication material; our purpose is making inter-personal relationships.
We notice other people while playing; we can be rhythm friends with them. Experience joy in the circle and suddenly you feel togetherness.
Trust yourself.
Age; nationality; sexuality; culture is not important. Everybody in the circle puts something in and takes something out from circle.
Working together we share our soul in rhythm form. This makes our relationships stronger. Playing together is therapeutic. And it makes for emotional comfort and fulfillment.
Creating a good music together is a way of sharing excitement. Whether others in the circle are good or bad players is not important.
You can use plastic boxes and pieces of wood for playing.
The quality of music is created through the relationships of the players in the circle, not just by being good players.
After you play for some magical minutes, time stops and leaves you with feelings of breathtaking happiness comfort and emotion.
The Drum Circle creates music as a group; not only as individuals.
When we play together we create a unique time and location along with the strength of the rhythm. We live a special time whilst playing
You don't need to have played before; just to have willingness to follow the rhythm.
All other thoughts are cleared from your mind. Time stops. And after playing you feel better again, ready with your friends to face the world again with new enthusiasm

As far as my experience goes, there is no dancing as of yet along with drumming, but you can take African dance classes now for the first time in Istanbul. You can take African Dance at Planet Health Club in Kuruçesme (behind macro Supermarket), every Saturday at 16:30. Plus every Saturday between 12:00-14:00 at AfroCubanos Dance School in Galatasaray, for the ones who can´t make the class at 16:30 at Planet. Further info:[email protected]

Hello,
We in Mississippi, USA hold quarterly drumming circles and the power of the experience is wonderful.
Please hold us in your thoughts as we need emotional and spiritual strength at this time from all who are will and able to help us.
Thank you for your support as the earth holds you in the palm of her hand,
Fran
