Paying the bills, Ankara
|
|
If you are late making a payment, you will need to go directly to the company in question to settle your account. To avoid late payments, pay them directly or from your account by using automatic payment methods. In order to do the latter, you must choose a bank, open an account and supply the bank with a copy of one of your bills to ensure that they receive correct information.
Electricity, water, gas and telephone charges are invoiced on monthly basis. Authorized personnel of ASKI (water), EGO General Directorate (natural gas) and BEDAŞ (Başkent Electricity) visit each house and apartment building and after reading the related counters, immediately prepare an invoice and place it to your postbox.
However as most of the gas subscriptions are being converted to a “card” system the payment is done in advance either at Metro ticket offices, EGO General Directorate Building or Vakıfbank branches. The addresses and telephone numbers are given in our Yellow Pages. Telephone (fixed or mobile) and cable TV invoices are sent to your address every month. Please keep in mind that the payments in the banks are accepted until 15:45.
Since the payment is charged in advance from your credit card, private cable TV companies send the invoice for the amount you have paid in due course. The charges can also be invoiced on monthly basis upon your request.
Be aware of forgers who may come to your door introducing themselves as authorized personnel requesting payment of an invoice. Don't fall for this trick - all payments are made either directly at the company's offices or by using the services of a bank.
