Leb-i Derya Cafe Restaurant

I would like to share with you here a site I enjoyed a lot. Recently a friend of mine mentioned this restaurant and I asked my nephew Doğuş to be a pioneer and visit the place for me. He immediately called and said "Aunt, you must come here!"

He was right, as soon as I set foot at Leb-i Derya I was fascinated by the panorama of Topkapı Palace, Haghia Sophia and Sultanahmet Mosque. When I slightly turned left the Bosphorus embraced me. I should have guessed before, as the name is Leb-i Derya, literally "Lip of Sea".

I suggest you to make a reservation at the "Front Bar". Either sip your drink or coffee while watching the stunning view. Here are some delicious specialties
- Grilled fillet (with mushroom sauce, spiced potatoes and salad)
- Chicken with saffron (chicken slices, saffron, garlic, cream, cheese and pilav with carrot)
- Seafood Spaghetti (shrimp, fumed salmon, mussels, capari, dill, garlic, cream and white wine)
- Hot Chicken Salad (Mediterranean herbs, dark bread, chicken pieces fried with poppy, scallion, tomatoes, lemon and olive oil)

It is very easy to reach Leb-i Derya either by car, by taxi and by tramway from Taksim.

Hello Istanbul! I was in Lebiderya on the first of April, my last night in Istanbul (for the spring anyway) and the views, ambiance, energy and the people were great. As a non-smoker, I was dying from the smoke around me! I will go back in the summer and dine al fresce and breathe some fresh air while enjoying the great view.

It is easy to find! Just turn LEFT down ´Kumbaraci Yokusu´ (the street just before the Richmond Hotel as you go down Istiklal) and walk downhill about 100m. It don´t look much from outside - but the view is great. ** Lebi-derya lovers should also try the roof bar at Bilsak
