Moda has been resisting the years and still preserves its nostalgic atmosphere at the headland with tea gardens under the trees overlooking the Marmara Sea, and Kalamış Bay, and with its almost historical restaurants. There are so many places that it is difficult for you to choose one either for a snack, dinner or just for a cup of tea or coffee.
The children's playground located just across from the tennis court is always full of children with their mothers or nannies. Moda also has a special place in the life of the older generations: It is where they confess their love or propose marriage!! Almost all old and middle-aged Istanbulites have romantic memories to tell you about Moda.
The famous, but unfortunately no longer existing, Moda beach was located on wooden docks and parts of it were reserved only for women. The young men would row around and dive artistically to attract the attention of women swimming and sunbathing. Now there is a coastal road instead; however, we have unforgettable memories, which we recall while viewing the stunning panorama.
Moda is one of the best places in Istanbul to watch the sunset behind the elegant
minarets of old Istanbul. Moreover, the moonlight should not be missed. The
moon rises and brightens the boats anchored on Kalamış Bay.
