Mount Ararat Trek
Live through the magnificent experience of climbing Mount Ararat, the highest mountain in Turkey to the final residence of Noah’s Ark!
Mount Ararat, Turkey's highest mountain offers an unforgettable experience in the field of adventure tours. As an extinct volcano with an altitude of 5137 m / 16854 feet, the ascent does not require advanced level of technical climbing skills. Nevertheless, for the last 150 m towards the summit, ability to use ice axe and crampons techniques gain importance and this pass notably requires professional guidance. Duration spent on the mountain is 4 nights of camping and 5 days totally.
Day 1: Arrival at the city (Van) transfer to town (Dogubayazit) and overnight at the hotel
Day 2: Transfer to Mount Ararat, trekking to 1st camp called "Green Camp"
Day 3: Acclimatization day. Overnight at 1st camp
Day 4: Moving to 2nd camp
Day 5: Summit day. Overnight at 1 st camp
Day 6: Returning to town (Dogubayazit). Overnight at the hotel
Day 7: Transfer to the airport
Dates: Every week in July and August 2015.
