Outlet Centers

Outlet shops have become the addresses for economical shopping recently. Outlet shops originally come from the USA. Now many brands manufacture cheaper products especially for their outlets. In Turkey, "outlet" means a shop that sells some defective goods and the seconds of the retail stores of manufacturers.

The jury of the daily Hürriyet newspaper, composed of shopping enthusiasts, selected the Top 10 Outlets in Turkey in March 2009.

ViaPort
ViaPort Kurtköy hosts 146 stores. Jewelry, leather, watches, kitchenware and furniture shops are located in the “bedesten” section that resembles Kapalıçarşı. The only outlets of Dutch women’s wear brand NTS, Bandolera and Harvey Nichols are at Viaport. There is also a Go-cart circuit and an artificial pond. It is open every day between 10:00 and 22:00.

Olivium
Olivium Shopping Mall is in Zeytinburnu İstanbul  and houses 136 stores including Mango, Polo Garage, Mavi, Mudo, Damat, Diesel, Tommy Hilfiğer and Levi’s. There are 19 restaurants, movie theaters, a bowling hall and an artificial climbing wall. It is open every day between 10:00 and 22:00.

Optimum
Optimum Outlet Center opened four years ago as the first outlet center in Ankara. Optimum Istanbul is located in Yenisahra, on the D-100 highway on the Anatolian side. It houses 163 stores, 30 restaurants and an ice-skating rink. Replay, Diesel, Beymen, Vakko, Mango, Defacto, İpekyol, Mudo, MediaMarct and Koton are some of the brands. 70% of the products are end of series. It is open every day between 10:00 and 22:00.

Airport
Airport Outlet was built in place of Londra Camping in Ataköy, Istanbul and houses 116 stores. An entertainment area for children, movie theaters, an ice skating rink and amphitheater are among the facilities at the center. Famous brands such as Armani, Versace, Fred Perry, Vakko, Sarar, İpekyol, Fabrika, Mudo, İGS, Beymen Business, Dufy, Kiğılı and So Chic have outlet shops here. There are also Teknosa, İstanbul Bilişim and Siemens stores. It is open every day between 10:00 and 22:00.

Kale
Kale was opened at Güngören, Istanbul in 2007 and converted into an outlet center in 2008. It is composed of 7 blocks and 8 floors housing 120 stores. Benetton, Derimod, Adidas, Defacto, Nike and Flo are some of the brands.  Some entertainment units such as gondol and dodgem cars can be found on the top floor. It is open every day between 10:00 and 22:00.

Deposite
Deposite is located in İkitelli, Istanbul and is composed of 110 stores, 12 restaurants and a sports hall. The products of brands such as YKM, Mango, Beymen, Roman, Koton, Kiğılı, Teknosa, Tezken, Samsung, Boyner, Opmar Optik and LC Waikiki are on sale there. It is open every day between 10:00 and 22:00.

Armonipark
ArmoniPark is at Sefaköy, Istanbul. There are 91 stores, 21 restaurants, 7 movie theaters, a playing area for children, an ice skating rink and an exhibition hall. Pierre Cardin, Atasay, İnci, Derimod, Fabrika, Nike, Vestel, Teknosa, Carrefour, Flo, Tefal, and Karaca are among the stores to be found in ArmoniPark. It is open every day between 10:00 and 22:00.

Deepo
Deepo is the biggest outlet center in the Mediterranean region. It is located across from Antalya Airport and was opened in 2004. It houses 90 stores such as Boyner, Mudo Outlet, Teknosa and Park Bravo, and has 16 restaurants. There is also an ice skating rink and a go-cart track.

İzmit Outlet Center
The center was opened in 1997 and has been hosting 600,000 visitors each year. There are 45 stores in which 200 brands such as Altınyıldız, Atasay, Bosch, Camper, Chanel, Derimod, Docker's, Mavi Jeans, Gucci and Vakko are sold. “Sale Festival” takes place once a year when the goods are being sold even cheaper in front of the stores. It is open every day between 10:00 and 22:00. It is open until 23:00 in summer.

Forum Outlet Ankara
Forum Ankara is among the largest outlet centers in Turkey and is located at Keçiören. Its streets are so designed as to resemble the outdoors. It houses 145 stores from Bauhaus to Media Market, from Kipa to YKM Outlet, from Beymen Outlet (Etro, Chloe, Sergio Rossi, Prada Sport and Moschino) to Intersport. The outlet also offers a climbing wall, mini zoo, go-carting track as well as style coaching. It is open every day between 10:00 and 22:00.
