Considering the limited number of spaces and the diplomatic traffic in Ankara, it is advisable to register your child before he/she is due to start school.
All private schools serving expatriates teach in foreign languages, but some Turkish Grammar, Literature and Social Studies lessons are also included in many curriculums. The following is the list of schools in alphabetical order.

Ankara English Pre-School
Accepts children between the ages of 3 and 6. School hours are from 08:30 to
13:00. Education is in English. Children of different countries are welcome
and proficiency in English is not required. They also accept children who are
not yet toilet trained. Located at Gaziosmanpaşa, transportation is available.
Ankara Japanese School
Curriculum is taught in Japanese. Located at Gaziosmanpaşa, the school offers only elementary and junior-high levels.
Bilkent Laboratory & International School (BLIS)
The school was first founded as the Bilkent University Preparatory School (BUPS) in 1993. The school serves students from ages 4 (preschool) - 17 (grade 12). Located on the East Campus of Bilkent University, the school provides an international education with a focus on English language. Approximately 50% of the staff are native English speaking international staff and 50% bilingual Turkish staff. Students are admitted through a selective admissions process emphasizing English fluency and strong academic potential. BLIS offers both the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program and Diploma Program. The school attracts the children of prominent political, diplomatic and business leaders within the capital city.
British Embassy Study Group
Situated within the grounds of the British Embassy at Çankaya, children, between the ages
of 3 to 11 years are admitted. Because the system is for British citizens residing
in Ankara, priority is given to those people. On the other hand, if there is
place in the class children from other nationalities are also welcomed depending on their English level. School
hours are from 08:40 to 15:00. Fluency in English is required and uniforms are
also compulsory. The school follows English National Curriculum.
French School (Charles De Gaule)
Approved by French National Education Ministry. French is the main language
of instruction and school follows the French curriculum. The Junior School and
the nursery are situated in the grounds of the French Embassy at Kavaklıdere, Senior School at Yıldız. School hours are 08:00 to 13:30. Uniforms are not required.
Gence Pre-School
Located at Gaziosmanpasa and very popular with its Mini Drum Core. Accepts students from age 2 to 6. A curriculum concentrated on music, English learning and environmental awareness. School hours 09:00 to 18:00. Half day program also avaliable. Morning, evening snacks and lunch.
George C. Marshall School
The George C. Marshall School was first founded as the Ankara Elementary and
High School in 1956.The school is located within the grounds of a Turkish military
base at Balgat, which used to belong to the US Air Force, and has all the amenities for
sports activities. Embassy staff and US citizens are given priority for enrollment.
School follows the American educational system, with a capacity of 200 students.
Children between the ages of 5 to18 years are welcomed and school hours are
from 08:20 to 15:00.
German School
Lessons are in German and a German curriculum is followed. Children between
3 and 15 years are admitted. High school education can only be provided at İstanbul
Alman Lisesi. Located at Kavaklıdere, school hours are 07:55 to 13:10. Transportation is available and no uniforms required. English is taught as a second foreign language.
International Pre-School and Kindergarten
Located at Gaziosmanpaşa, children, between the ages of 3 and 6 are accepted. An English-speaking environment, where a certified American teacher and a Turkish aide attend each class. Half
and full day programs are available. Transportation is available.
Özel Bilkent Lisesi (Private Bilkent High School)
Özel Bilkent Lisesi was founded in 1993. Education is for children between 3
and 18 years of age and the school follows the standards and regulations of
the Ministry of Education in Turkey. Education is in English with exception
of Turkish Literature and Social Studies. There are both Turkish and foreign
teachers at the school
Özel Tevfik Fikret Okulları
A private school established in 1964, and converted to Anatolian High School
status in 1980. Located at Mustafa Kemal Mahallesi. Education is in French with the exception of Turkish Literature and Social Studies. Children between 6 and 18 are admitted upon examination. The school attracts the children of many prominent political, diplomatic and business people of
the city.
Pakistan Embassy Study Group
Located at Gaziosmanpaşa. Priority is given to Pakistani children. Education is in English and class from kindergarten to high school are available. When space allows, students from
other nationalities are also admitted.
TED Ankara Koleji (TED Ankara College)
Established in 1928 in Kızılay, TED Ankara College is one of the oldest and most prestigious
schools of Turkey. Education is in English with the exception of Turkish Literature
and Social Studies. Children between 6 and 18 are admitted upon examination.
The school attracts the children of many prominent political, diplomatic and
business people of the city.
Yasemin Pre-School
Located at Birlik Mahallesi, Çankaya, this is a certified pre-school for 3- 6 years olds of all nationalities. The school curriculum is carried out by certified pre-school teachers. The school
building is designed for group and individual education. The school has several options 08:30 to 13:00, to 15:00 or 17:00.
Aykan at Çankaya, Bambi, Erken Başarı, Yeşil Çizgi at Gaziosmanpaşa, Yeni Ufuklar at Oran and Ümitköy are also recommended Turkish language preschools.
