Puppet Days in Izmir
Izmir International Puppet Days is an annual festival that introduce audiences to the art of puppetry, while also trying to build a cultural dialogue between countries. The mission of the festival is to showcase the work of traditional Turkish shadow puppet theatre and to present high-quality national and international productions of contemporary puppetry. It is considered among the biggest puppet festivals in the world.
This year 40 puppet theaters from 19 countries will perform 42 different shows at 45 indoor and outdoor venues and more 176 sessions for both children and adults.
The festival is hosting puppet theaters from Argentine, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States.
Exhibitions, conferences and workshops are also among the facilities of the 11th Izmir International Puppet Days.
