The gourmets and kitchen masters on Hürriyet newspaper's jury have chosen the locations offering the best salads in 2003.
Home Store
Home Store has been in service at the ground floor of Akmerkez since 1994. It
is open everyday between 10:00 and 22:00. A reservation is required for lunch.
There are twenty-five kinds of salads, four of which are dietary, on the menu.
Caesar salad with grilled chicken and seafood salad are the favorite dishes
among the clientele.
Zanzibar
Zanzibar has two branches in ıstanbul, one of which is at TeŞvikiye Milli Reasürans
ÇarŞısı on the European side, and the other of which is at a historical villa
in Caddebostan. The menu is comprised mostly of French cuisine. Sautéed chicken
salad served with warm mustard sauce is the latest specialty of the restaurant.
It is open everyday between 09:00 and 23:00.
All Sports Café
The Café is located in Etiler and is one of the favorite sites among the young
and sportsmen. It is open everyday from 10:00 to 24:00 and on Sundays from 10:00
to 22:00. The menu features seven kinds of salad and the café is also famous
for its salad dressings. All Sports Salad with chicken, Cajun salad with filet,
and fresh salmon salad with wine are the house specialties.
Café Marmara
Located at the entrance to The Marmara Hotel in Taksim, it offers nine different
salads. All salads come in large and small sizes. It is famous for its Neptune
Salad, which is composed of Alaska fish, crab, smoked trout, red beans, artichoke
heart, garden rocket, green lettuce, olive oil and raspberry vinegar.
House Café
It is an old NiŞantaŞı House on Atiye Sokak, TeŞvikiye. It offers a domestic
atmosphere with its salon and two rooms. There is a big table in the living
room which everyone sits around. The menu includes six different salads. It
is open everyday from 08:00 to 22:30. House Café is famous for its salads with
chicken and grilled steak.
Budakaltı
Budakaltı is famous not only for its salads but also for its delicious main
courses. It is located in GaziosmanpaŞa, Ankara and offers thirteen kinds of
salad. Seafood salad, rocket salad served with fried cheese and hot Mexican
salad are its specialties. It is open everyday, except Mondays, from 09:00 to
24:00.
Café City
Café City is located in BeŞiktaŞ Akaretler and is famous for its modern decoration
and beautiful backyard. The Café has one bar and two rooms, and is decorated
with American advertising posters from the 1950s. It offers ten different kinds
of salad, the most famous of which is the Thai Salad, which is composed of grilled
filet slices and soy sauce. It is open every day, except Sunday, from 10:00
to 24:00.
Gilda Restaurant
Gilda is an Italian restaurant near the seaside in ızmir Alsancak. There are
eight different salads on the menu. In addition to classic salads such as Ceasar
salad and rocket salad with parmesan cheese, it is also famous for Gilda salad,
which is composed of rocket, avocado, parmesan cheese, sesame and sunflower
seeds. It is open everyday from noon till 23:00.
Salopet
Salopet is a cozy café-restaurant in Bebek. It has a rich menu offering snacks,
soups, different egg dishes, macaroni, crepes and even kebaps. This two-story
building also has a very pleasant garden and is open everyday from 11:00 to
01:00. The menu has ten different salads, and the most famous one is Buğday
(wheat) Salad. It is made from marinated wheat, pepper and tomatoes and is very
healthy.
Zencefil
Zencefil is in Beyoğlu and the menu consists entirely of all-natural products.
It is famous for its vegetarian menu and salads. It is open everyday from 09:00
to 22:30. The gourmets strongly recommend Zencefil's special breads served with
salads. They offer three kinds of salad: green salad, vegetable salad and mixed
salad.

Armani Café
Armani Café is located at the entrance to the historical Maçka Palace in TeŞvikiye.
It offers distinguished examples of Italian cuisine. Armani has seven different
salads in its menu. The favorites are shrimp salad with artichoke and grilled
chicken salad.
Café des Cafés
This café is located at Tunalı Hilmi, Kavaklıdere-Ankara and offers six different
salads. Greek salad with cheese and olives, Aegean salad with ham, and tuna
fish salad are among the favorites. It is open everyday from 08:30 to 23:00.
Cumba Restaurant
Cumba is located at Bornova, ızmir. The most famous salad served here is Cumba
Salad, which consists of chicken, peas, corn, asparagus, green salad, roasted
sunflower seeds, paprika, pepper and pomegranate syrup. It is open every day
from 11:00-24:00, except Sundays when it closes at 19:00.
Cafemiz
This beautiful site located in a garden on Arjantin Caddesi in Ankara offers
twelve different kinds of salad. The special salad called "Hayal"
(literally, Imagination) is prepared upon the request of customers. It is closed
on Mondays.
Chocolate
Chocolate is at the entrance toDolmabahçe Süzer Plaza and the menu offers twenty
different salads. The café is distinguished by its seafood salad. It is open
twenty-four hours a day every day.
Da Mario
Da Mario is in Etiler and is open everyday except Sundays from 12:00 to15:00
and again from 19:00 to 02:00. Insalata Mimosa with parmesan and herbs and Insalata
Di Grancio with crab are the house specialties.
Dulcinea
Dulcinea is in Beyoğlu, MeŞelik Sokak and is open everyday from 12:00 to 02:00.
The menu consists of four kinds of salad: Mozarella, chicken, Caesar and avocado.
Koyu Kahve
This beautiful place is in Galatasaray, Çukurcuma. It is open everyday from
10:00 to 23:00. Koyu Kahve (literally Dark Coffee) Salad, which consists of
toast, cheese and olive paste, is the specialty of the site. Additionally, salads
with chicken, salmon and tuna are among the favorite alternatives.
La Maison
The French restaurant at BeŞiktaŞ Çırağan offers three salads in its menu: Caesar
salad with chicken or shrimp and salad with goat cheese. It serves only for
lunch and dinner.
S Café
This chic café in Akmerkez is famous for its chicken salad with gorgonzola sauce.
It is open everyday between 10:00 and 21:30. Parmesan and crab salad are also
among the favorites.
