Boğaziçi University (Boğaziçi Universitesi)
Formerly known as American Robert College, which was the first, American College established outside the borders of the United States. In 1971 the school was formally founded as Boğaziçi Universitesi. The classes are in English and the University has good reputation in Turkey. It has four faculties, six institutes (offering graduate programs), the school of Foreign Languages, Applied Disciplines and Advanced Vocational Studies. Many of the University's buildings are located on the site next to Rumelihisarı looking over Bosphorus.

Galatasaray University (Galatasaray Universitesi)
Galatasaray High School, one of the oldest high schools in Istanbul, founded its university in 1992 upon special agreements between Turkey and France. The education at this reputable state university is in French. There are five faculties and ten sections together with two institutes for master degrees.

Istanbul Technical University (Istanbul Teknik Universitesi)
ITU (Istanbul Teknik Universitesi) was established in 1773, during Ottoman Period with the original name being “The Royal School of Naval Engineering”. With a history dating back 228 years, providing technical education within a modern educational environment and strong academic staff, Istanbul Technical University is strongly identified with architectural and engineering education in Turkey. It is the oldest and the most respected technical university in Turkey.

Istanbul University was the first university of Turkey, and is famous for its medical and literature faculties. Several faculty buildings and campuses are spread throughout the city.

First established in 1883 as a Fine Arts school. In 1982 it was converted to a university and several faculties were added to its structure.

Yıldız Technical University (Yıldız Teknik Universitesi)
Founded in 1911, Yıldız Technical University has produced over 45.000 graduates. It offers contemporary education in historical surroundings with technological and social facilities. When it is moved to the Davutpaşa Campus more facilities will be available to the students.

Ankara University(Ankara Universitesi)

Ankara University was founded in 1925 by Atatürk with one faculty; Law. Later other faculties such as agriculture, language, history and geography, science and medicine followed. However the most important faculty is Political Science which was foinded in 1936, they play an important role in educating top executives, which fulfills the personal interest and directives of Atatürk.

Gazi University, founded in 1982 has 24 Faculties, 19 Vocational schools, 5 Graduate schools, 46 institutions and 18 research centers located in Ankara and near the provinces of Çorum, Kastamonu and Kırşehir.

Hacettepe University (Hacettepe Universitesi)
Hacettepe University's foundation can be traced back to the establishment of the Institute of Child Health in1958, and the investiture of the Hacettepe Children's Hospital. Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine was established in 1963 by Prof. PhD Ihsan Doğramacı who is also the founder of Bilkent University.

Middle East Technical University-METU (Orta Doğu Teknik Universitesi-ODTÜ)
Founded in 1963, METU is one of the oldest and most popular state universities. METU boasts a campus of about 305.000 sq.mt. and instruction is in English. The objective of the METU is to train Turkish and foreign students in scientific, technical and professional fields of study.

Akdeniz University (Akdeniz Universitesi)

Akdeniz University was founded in 1982 for the purpose of providing education to the regions of Antalya, Burdur and Isparta. It is the biggest university in the Mediterranean Region with medicine, agriculture, business administration, veterinarian, fine arts, communications, education and engineering faculties. The university hospital in Antalya is a fully equipped state hospital.

Anadolu University (Anadolu Universitesi)
Anadolu Universitesi is situated in Eskişehir, a student city four and two and a half hours away from Istanbul and Ankara respectively. It was established in 1982 and offers two- and four-year programs through distance education. On offer are 387 bachelors degree programs and 196 pre-bachelor level programs. Most of the education units have a one-year English preparatory class requirement.
