Terkos - Durusu

 Terkos (Durusu) Lake, which gives its name to Istanbul's drinking water, is 40 km northwest of city center. It is one of the ideal places to spend a leisure day or a weekend. Durusu is among the favorite places of hunters. Fishing and bird hunting is available during the hunting season. However only wild duck and goose hunting is allowed. It is forbidden to shoot bird species such as black morass, coot, heron, pelican, and pheasant. The fish variety of the lake is: freshwater perch, salmon, pike, trout, roach, and carp. The lake is shallow and surrounded by rushes and touring by motorboat is not allowed. However there are boats for rent for you to row on the lake.

The small restaurant near the lake can be a good choice to eat fresh fish; you can also buy the newly caught lake fish from the stands on the roadside. Moreover if it is the season you can pick up orchids.

Special certificated Durusu Park Resort Hotel located by the lake offers you several facilities such as indoor swimming and children pool, fitness center, horseback riding, hunting and nature sports.
