This Weekend in Ankara

February 24-26, 2017

Cuba Night in Ankara, organized by José Martí Cuba-Turkey Friendship Association, will take place at Nazım Hikmet Kültür Merkezi, Kızılay on Saturday at 20:30. Cuban Latin Orchestra Los Amigos  will be on stage for this special event. Tickets can be purchased at José Martí Küba Dostluk Derneği and box office of Nazım Hikmet Kültür Merkezi.  Ticket price: 30 TL.

Solo, Four-Hand and Six-Hand Piano and Flute-Piano Concert by the piano and chamber music students of Ankara State Conservatory will take place at Gökyay Vakfı Satranç Müzesi on Saturday at 17:00. Program: Bach-Busoni, W.A. Bozart, L. van Beethoven ,  J. Brahms, C. Debussy, G. Faure. Tickets can be purchased through Biletix.

Trio Ba, composed of Özgür Baskın  (violin), Gökhan Bağcı (cello), Başar Can Kıvrak (piano) will perform L. van Beethoven’s Piano Trios  at Mozarthaus, Çankaya on Saturday at 20:00. Program: J. S. Bach, C. Saint-Saëns. Can Çakmur’s piano recital is on Sunday at 17:00. Program: Bach, Scarlatti, Schumann, Chopin, Widmann. Tickets can be purchased through Biletix.

Ankara State Opera and Ballet will perform Fındıkkıran – The Nutcracker, one-act modern dance show  at Opera Sahnesi on Saturday at  13:00. La Boheme, Puccini’s two-act opera will be staged on Saturday at 20:00. Kalp Korosu (The Heart Choir), one-act musical play for children, will be staged at Leyla Gencer Sahnesi on Sunday at 12:00.

CSO- Presidential Symphony Orchestra will  perform Baroque concert on Friday at 20:00. Soloists: Ethem Emre Tamer (violin), Esma Ebru Tamer (violin).  Tickets can be purchased through Biletinial.

Studio Masterpiece offers 3 hours of art, music and fun, which you paint, listen to music, have new friends. Even if you never paint you will be the artist and will have your own oil-painting works which you can hang at home or office or give your friends as a gift. All equipments will be provided by Studio Masterpiece and included in the ticket price. Tickets can be purchased through Biletix. Jolly Joker Ankara is hosting Hakan Altun band on Friday at 22:00. Leven Yüksel will take stage on Saturday at 22:00.

Yonca Lodi will take stage at Hayal Kahvesi on Friday at 23:00.

Pembe Kurbağa Children’s Theater at Büklüm Sokak Kavaklıdere, will stage Kardan Adam ile Kartanesi  (Snowman and Snowflakes) on Saturday at 12:00. Minik Kuş (Little Bird), storytelling theater for children 0-3 is on Saturday at 15:00 and Sunday at 12:00.

Aqua Vega, the biggest aquarium in Turkey, can be visited  at Nata Vega Outlet between 11:00 and 21:00.

The first technology museum in Ankara is Çengelhan Rahmi Koç Museum. The collection contains hundreds of items from miniatures to full size boats and vehicles. It is worth to pay a visit on the weekend.
