This Weekend in Ankara

May 18-20, 2012

Anadolu Ateşi Children Dance Troupe will perform Kıvılcım (Sparks) show at ATO Congresium on Saturdayat 17:30  and Sunday at 15:30.

Ankara State Opera and Ballet is hosting Selva Erdener & Turkuaz Quartet  at Operet Sahnesi on Sunday at 20:00.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous musical, The Phantom of the Opera will be staged at Turkish American Association (TAA) on the weekend. All performances are in English. On the occasion of 19 May Youth and Sports Day the shows on May 17, 18 and 20 are special admission-free shows for  high school students (age 14-16).. For more information: (312) 426 2628.

CSO – Presidential Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Emin Güven Yaşlıçam will perform Youth and Sports Day Concert at Atatürk Spor Salonu  on Friday at 20:00.

Ankara Tevfik Fikret Schools Folk Dance Group will perform “Aşk-ı Hayat” show at Tevfik Fikret Okulları Konferans Salonu on Friday at 18:00.

“Cey’lan Ertem-Sezen Aksu Tribute” will take place at Çayyolu Random Pub on Saturday at 21:00.

Famous Turkish rock music performer Şebnem Ferah will take stage at Crossroads Live, Çayyolu on Saturday at 23:30.

Pamela will take stage at Ankara Hayal Kahvesi on Friday at 23:30.

Turkuaz  Party will take place at Kavaklıdere Murphy’s Dance Bar on Friday. “Youth and Sports Pary” is on Saturday and Dance Night is on Sunday.

One of the British Natural History Museum's most inspiring and innovative programs Age of Dinosaur Exhibition is at Ankamall AVM. The exhibition is a performing arts-based interpretive program that lets visitors get up close and personal with a realistic, life-sized dinosaur which have been extinct for nearly 65 million years. As well as the animatronics, Age of the Dinosaur has computer generated images film, stunning images, interactive stations, and amazing specimens, including real fossil dinosaur bones, to help visitors explore the Jurassic environments. Tickets can be purchased through Biletix.

Women’s Handicraft Bazaar will take place at Esat Pazarı on Saturday and Sunday.

Müjdat Gezen Sanat Merkezi at Panora Shopping Mall will stage musical plays for children on the weekend.
Saturday and Sunday at  16:00 Şirinler (Smurfs)

ACity Shopping Mall on Istanbul Yolu offers ice-skating for children .

Bak Kedi Konuştu (Look! The Cat is Talking), play for children; will be staged at Gençlik Park Kültür Merkezi on Saturday and Sunday at 13:30.
