Trattoria da Rosario

Trattoria da Rosario is a small but special Italian restaurant hidden amongst the trees in Koşuyolu, Kadıköy. When a friend of mine from Sarıyer praised this cozy place, I was ashamed not to know it as I was born in Kadıköy and have been living there for forty-some years. Plus, it is located on the corner of the street where my best friend, whom I visit almost every weekend, lives.
Coming from a family who doesn't like to spend New Year's Eve out, I could not resist the insistence of my friends last year and we went to Rosario. It was one of the most beautiful nights I have spent, and I admired the quality of both the service and the customers. It was "just like home".
This year I celebrated my birthday at Rosario. The cuisine was, of course, Italian. We ordered pizza for entrée but could not resist tasting the delicious garlic bread. We were six couples, all of us ordered different foods and no one was disappointed. Everything was delicious and the portions were satisfactory. Although Veal Carpaccio, Insalata Campangola and Spaghetti Furutti di Mare (with seafood) are among the specialties of Rosario, I believe every food is special here. The pizzas are big, but the dough is so thin and crispy that I advise you not share it with anyone. Please note the macaronis served with delicious sauces are homemade.
As soon as you set foot in the place, the warm atmosphere and the smiling faces of the waiters welcome you. When you settle in, they bring a plate with grilled eggplant and sweet red pepper in olive oil and pomegranate juice.
A duo that plays guitar and accordion visit the tables, singing customers' requests. The beautiful garden is covered in winter. If you are after a special meal with a warm and dimly-lit atmosphere, Rosario is just for you.
It is also a favorite restaurant among businessmen at lunchtime.
Rosario is open every day from 10:00 to midnight and parking is not a problem. Reputable credit cards are accepted.
