 Textile and by product industries are among the most important income of the country. Since the labor cost is much cheaper in Turkey, many famous international companies have their goods manufactured here. The rejected goods due to very small defects or disagreement, can be found at Pazar stands in the same season. Famous brands such as Vakko and Beymen weave their own cloths and their outlets are very popular. International brands from Paul & Shark to Lacoste, from Burbery's to Mango have their own shops running in Turkey. The fake brands are again at the stands on Pazars and peddlers.

The leading haute-couture tailors of the country Cemil İpekçi, Yıldırım Mayruk, Vural Gökçaylı and Canan Yaka also have their own stores. Clio Mutaf, Dilek Hanif, Zeynep Tunuslu and Arzu Kaprol are the famous creative tailors.

The stores having Outlet or Fabrika Satış Mağazası sell the odd lots or defected goods of the brands they are bearing the name. Kumaşçı is drapery store while Tuhafiye (millinery) is where queer goods are sold (Tuhaf means queer in Turkish).

Derimod, Derishow and Desa are among the best-known brands on leather clothes, shoes, bags and accessories.
