The Ankara Women's Club is an international social group that aims to organize social, cultural and intellectual activities within the foreign community in Ankara. Activities take place in English. Ankara International Charities Committee
The AICC is an international group of foreigners wishing to contribute to the well being of Turkey during their stay here. Members visit schools; orphanages and hospitals, then purchase equipment or items needed. The AICC's main fund raising effort is an annual Dinner-Dance and Grand Tombola, in October or November. A number of smaller events are also held throughout the year.

Bonjour Ankara
This group organizes lectures (en français) every first Wednesday of the month at 11.00, the Sheraton. The subjects of these lectures vary from one month to the next but from last year's experience, they are always interesting.

British Women's Group
The BWG is an active group that sponsors a wide range of activities. Members and their guests meet for coffee and special program usually on the last Monday of each month, at 10.00 am at the Hilton Hotel.
Hash House Harriers
This is a non-competitive international group of runners, joggers, walkers, and strollers. "The Hash" was started some 50 years ago in Malaysia by a group of people who wanted to combine exercise with socializing and the Ankara Hash carries on this tradition every Sunday morning at 12:30 The parking lot by Segmenler Park (towards the end of the Ataurk Blvd-Protocol Road)

Red Lion Club
This Club is situated on the British Embassy grounds and membership is for the Embassy members and associated organization members only. However, British, Commonwealth, European and American nationals resident in or visiting Ankara may become associate members.

Scouting
For boys and girls, aged 7 to 18 years old, these groups are affiliated to the American organizations but accept boys/girls from any country except Turkey (which has its own program). Every group meets once a week, usually, for activities that vary according to the age. For more information contact:

Turkish-American Women's Cultural and Charitable Society (TAWCCS)
The Ankara TAWCCS is a branch of the Turkish American Council in Washington and is also working with others TAWCCS in Izmir and Adana. It offers a variety of bicultural activities while helping with local charitable projects. There is a monthly social activity and a newsletter published every month as well. There are other groups involved in activities such as Bookmobiles, Scholarships, Village excursions, Bazaars and conversation groups.

U.S Community Center
The Center provides a place where members can meet for informal activities and social events. Membership is open to all. Americans or spouses of Americans and to a limited number of others living in Ankara. Annual dues are $ 10 (US) for families or single membership. Activities vary depending on the resources available like bridge for beginners, mother-toddler meetings and play reading groups The center always welcomes new resource-persons ready to share their knowledge.

Imagine my surprise when
I see someone identified as the USA Girl Scouts Overseas point of contact in
Ankara that i have never met. I am the Director of Membership Services, USA Girl Scouts Overseas North Atlantic.
How do I go about updating this information? I am very sad to think that someonemay have tried to have thier daughter in the Girl SCout programsand no9t being able to connect withus. We actually hav e a very strong Girl SCout program in Ankara and a the Incirlik base in Adana. I look forward to hearing from someone to ensure the inforamtion is correct. I visit Turkey at least twice a year to work with our volunteers and girls.

Ankara Caledonian Society
The Ankara Caledonian Society was formed in the spring of 1994, to promote and foster activities and good relations among Scottish people, their family and friends.
