Domestic air transportation has been provided by Turkish Airlines(Türk Havayolları)
THY, which is a state economic enterprise until early 2004. In the process
of the EU membership the monopoly of THY has ended enabling the private companies
organize domestic flight. Accordingly, the private companies such as Atlas
Jet, Fly Air, Inter Airlines and Onur Air which have
been flying abroad from Istanbul also have scheduled domestic flights.
