Esenboğa airport is located 28 km, northeast of the city. Although the capacity of the airport can handle more than what it is servicing right now, Ankara does not have much of air traffic, causing international direct flights being scarce.
Besides to Turkish Airlines (also limited), only Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and Swissair offer direct flights to their European hubs. For other carriers, flying through İstanbul is the only choice.
Car rental companies like Hertz and Avis are servicing their customers at their offices located at the domestic arrivals terminal.
A restaurant, cafe-bar and duty free shops are among the facilities of Esenboğa. Parking lot available for 605 vehicles but quite expensive for long term parking (app. 4.00$ for 8 hours).
Transportation to the airport, provided by shuttle buses, operated by Havaş or taxis. Please note the taxis use night rates independent of time of the travel and the price you are going to pay is about 25 US $.
