From Konstantiniyye to Istanbul: Photographs of the Anatolian Shore of the Bosphorus from the mid XIXth Century to XX Century
The Pera Museum is hosting the exhibition entitled “From Konstantiniyye to Istanbul: Photographs of the Anatolian Shore of the Bosphorus from the Mid XIXth Century to the XXth Century” until April 1, 2012.
The exhibition consists of late 19th century and early 20th century photos of the Asian shore of the Bosphorus. It features a selection from the Suna and Inan Kıraç Foundation Photograph Collection and from private collections. It provides a nostalgic look of magnificent structures, the daily life and the intriguing personalities of İstanbul in the past.
The show includes photos by Ali Sami Aközer, Félice Beato, Guillaume Berggren, Abdullah Biraderler, Gülmez Biraderler, Ernest Edouard de Caranza, Sebah & Joaillier, Maurice Meys, Ali Enis Oza, James Robertson, and Elisa Pante Zonaro.
Sultans, Merchants, Painters: The Early Years of Turkish-Dutch Relations
Pera Museum is hosting the exhibition Sultans, Merchants, Painters: The Early Years of Turkish-Dutch Relations which is organized in cooperation with the Amsterdam Museum until April 1, 2012. The year 2012 marks the four hundredth year of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The exhibition aims to spread knowledge about historical and contemporary links between Amsterdam and Istanbul. The exhibition explores the historical and contemporary relations between two world cities and through these cities, implicitly also the two countries. It offers the visitors a journey through the older days of Istanbul and Amsterdam, and a revisit to the Tulip Era.
Sultans, Merchants, Painters exhibition includes 81 works including oil paintings, watercolors, engravings and books as well as the works of Jean-Baptiste Vanmour, the famous painter of the Tulip Era. , Jean-Baptiste Vanmour.
The exhibition which takes place firstly at Pera Museum, will then travel to the Amsterdam Museum.

Museum is closed on Mondays.
